Why is it that some songwriters and composers get placement after placement and others don't?
I get asked this question a lot.
It comes down to getting your foot in the door, and there is one BIG reason it happens or doesn't.
So many songwriters and composers are focused on the sync fees and forget about how lucrative backend royalties can be.
I recently interviewed Darren Fung, a successful TV & film composer, for our course 'The Art of The Song Pitch'. Here is a short clip from the interview which is a bit of a shocker when you find out what you can potentially make on your backend royalties.
