Guess what is the dumbest thing you can do immediately after you get your music into TV & film.
Is it…
Yeah those are pretty stupid.
But the worse thing you can do is not have that song on Spotify or another streaming service.
You see, as soon as millions of eyeballs and ears hear your song on their favorite show, those eyeballs and ears start Shazaming or searching for your song
This all happens within minutes of hearing your music.
If those millions of new fans can’t find your music in 60 seconds from the moment they searched it…
Guess what?
They forget about you forever and move on.
So yeah, dumb move, 🙁
This week I thought I would send you a simple guide on how to get your music on Spotify before you get that first sync placement in TV & Film. You need to make sure you are ready ahead of time if you are pitching your music.
It’s a one shot deal and if you blow it, that’s it.
There! Now you will never make that mistake… ever.
You’re welcome. 🙂
Chris
PS. A music supervisor friend of mine told me a story recently about an artist who had about 30,000 streams on Spotify. He placed one of their songs in his show and in the following 2 weeks they got 1.5 million streams! Talk about career launching.
**PPS. This blog was originally posted on our sister site, Sundown Sessions Studio, but we thought it would be helpful to our sync community too.
Hey! Give us a shout about anything really.
Our goal is for you to start getting your music into TV & film.
I thought sync licenses are exclusive. So I assume the music you put on spoitfy is not the same as the music you are licensing, other wise it would be a breach?
