Want to find out how a duo went from 0 syncs to over 200?
AND they kicked it off in a place you may never have heard of (Youngstown, Ohio).
Before they were LA sync stars…
Khaled and Kate were a couple of indie musicians playing gigs and recording in their hometown.
They slowly figured out how to get their music in front of the right people in music licensing.
They spill it all in this interview…

Lucy Neville. Artist.
Ok good to know. Sometimes I am not sure if I am mailing too often. I always try to make it actionable and valuable for everyone.
Thanks so much Chris and MUNNYCAT for all the valuable info!
Great to hear, Patrice!
Lot’s of great insight. Thank you so much!
You bet!
Thanks a bunch for this Chris. I really dig them and their music and relate to them soo much.
No worries! I love to find inspiration for you so you can see how other musicians are succeeding in music licensing.
Enjoyed the interview. I like their energy and the music!
Glad you enjoyed that Stephaun!
What a cool, inspiring interview.
They are a great example of two people, totally focused and committed to the creation AND marketing of their music. Love their advise about showing up for music conferences and putting a face to their music.
Cool!
Great interview. This reminded of My husband and I when we were doing music together and things were going great until the music industry/struggles started to destroy our marriage. We’re separated now and I still do music on a serious level to get placements and he doesn’t sadly and he’s so talented with guitar playing, creating videos, editing, production, mixing etc. Thanks for the inspiration. I really needed to see this. I now have to do it all by myself like you all do. People tried making me think something was wrong with me doing it all but you’re living proof. Kudos!
Really happy to hear that you haven’t given up, Lisay. I am glad you feel inspired and once you get the ball rollin in sync, it can be life changing!
SWEET!! I met this lovely duo at a Songwriter’s Conference in Hawaii!! 🙂 Tell them Lani says aloha! Btw, I am releasing THREE albums on 4:20 at 4:20pm on all digital platforms: 1) Grassroots 2) Lani & Irie J and 3) Sweet Gold. Sweet Gold is all instrumental beats & may be perfect for sync licensing. 😉 Wish ya’ll well and sending warm waves of aloha from Hawaii! Aloha, Lani * http://www.kehaulanimusic.com
Great to hear Lani! They are talented indeed.
Hey, 21 Pilots are from Ohio, too..
Good to know! 🙂
