Yes I already knew this Chris. But thanks.

Hello, I am a syncsongwriter member and I believe I saw this before but, it is good that you still are presenting this info to me, and the newbies. I’m pretty sure that I have this taken care of but, since watching this again I’m going to double check. Thanks again.👍

I haven’t made a cent since I started posting to Spotify, getting radio airplay, using Instagram and other sites to promote, sole owner of MLC, and despite 110,000 streams on one of my songs on Spotify
Songtrust never paid me anything for a year, and CD Baby claims I haven;t made $500 yet.
    Makes no sense!

Hi Chris, I asked you about this in the 4/11/26 coaching call and you told us that you were pretty sure BMI amalgamated the writing & publishing. Seeing this video tonight was very re-assuring that we do in fact have our publishing covered by registering as a writer with BMI. Thanks so much for bringing this valuable info to us!

Thanks Chris. I really appreciate knowing this. Haven’t made money yet, but working on it. Still allowed to claim my expenses for my music at tax time, even though no money coming in yet!

Thanks for the heads up Chris. I think I need to check!
Also, how does it work being in another country other than the US? My PRO here is APRA/AMCOS but I think it may only cover Australia and NZ. I think I signed up with BMI some time ago but not sure. How do I check and do I need to open a publisher account with them as well?

    • Chris SD says:

You actually only need to be signed up with your local PRO and the money will funnel to you from other countries. You are probably good, but can never hurt to check with your PRO.

  7. Maris says:

Thanks a lot, Chris for this information.
Will have to double check this once again, however it may differ from country to country. I get payments on a regular basis from my PRO. Live shows and radio airplays are the main sources.
