The

Protecting Your Music – Part 1

June 6, 2019

Are you ever afraid someone is going to rip off your songs?

Ever wonder what song copyright is and how it works?

Is it enough to just register them with a Performance Rights Organization like ASCAP?

I interviewed top entertainment lawyer Cheryl Hodgson who will tell you everything you need to know.

Find out how to protect your music and what copyright means to your bottom line.

Consider this a free legal consultation about keeping your music safe.

This is Part 1 of the interview. We’ll post Part 2 next week.

PS. This interview was recorded as a live webinar and Cheryl even took the time to answer everyone’s questions. She also offered up a free download called “How To Get Paid: A Songwriter’s Guide To Music Royalties” which you can access here.

This is such an amazing interview. Thank you so much! I am learning so much and am so very grateful.

  3. Lana White says:

I have been researching, and the copyright.gov rules have changed. You can only upload 10 songs at a time and they must be unpublished works. I’m trying to figure out how to copyright 4 albums of already published songs. UGH.

  4. Keith Ward says:

Thanks, Chris and Cheryl for the overview and, Cheryl, for the free guide. Very helpful.
